I do a berry picking post every year it seems. Fighting with the brambles for the sweet fruit is one of my favorite sports. I still think it should be in the Olympics. It takes skill and persistence and knowledge of where to find the best patches. I start scouting for them in the spring when the vines begin to bloom. This year some canes have invaded our back yard which will be cut back as soon as all the berries get ripe, I promise my self. It is very convent that Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for today is Hands
Wonderful post. My mother has a thornless blackberry bush. so much easier to pick the berries

Next time blackberries volunteer in my garden I will insist they are thornless. Really good idea actually

Nice looking berries and tomatoes, Carol. We were also “thinning the herd” this morning.

I’ll remember that phrase next time I need weeding done. Thinning the herd is much more poetic.

It’s all yours, Carol. Be careful around the thorns.

I know that feeling, Carol. It’s the same thing with their cousins, the Roses.

Love brambles. They seem especially beneficial if you have a cold.
