I came across this pinafore while excavating the spare room just in time for the final week of September Square. My grandmother made it for me when I was 2 or 3 so it is probably is close to 70 years old. She was an artist learning Pensilvania Dutch painting about this time. I am touched looking at the loving care she put into every stitch. Note the rick-rack details on the pocket.

The whole pinafore

If I’m not mistaken this may have been made on a treadle sewing machine. I remember it was a big deal when my mom got an electric sewing machine. Anyone have similar memories?
The banner is an image of the back. I love the little buttons.
So many layers of love in this garment, Carol.
