You brought us so much joy and laughter.

I remember dancing with my dad to the Tennessee Waltz

For the youngsters among us Doggie in the Window came on the scene just before Rock and Roll. As a very early Baby Boomer I have found memories of it. Enjoy!

  1. Patti Page was great. I remember her songs so well while I was growing up. Enjoyed listening to her even during the Rock and Roll era. Great lady.

  2. Thanks for the link to NPR I had heard just part of it. Certainly surprised she was also a jazz singer and was in movies. I hope the tell that she snuck Tennessee Waltz on to side B a Christmas Album to get it published. That was in our local paper today.

  3. So glad you posted this tribute to Patti Page. I didn’t know she’d passed away or that she was the person singing one of my favorite childhood songs.
Every xmas when my family squeezed into the old Chevie and drove hundreds of miles to the ocean we didn’t have a radio in the car so “doggie in the window” was sung many-many times.
    RIP Patti.
