Eye of the rose
Eye of the rose

Intimacy

Do we dare look

into the eye of the rose?

Naked, spring beckons,

unashamed.

She stares back

black-eyed

Olympia.

Helpless we

surrender again

and  again,

each year

as if

for the first time.

My first rose called forth this poem I offer it to Weekly Photo Challenge to post a hint of the future  reflected in the past.

      1. naw, not yet. Well we did a couple of weeks ago, things were beginning to sprout, the grass was turning green, and then the last 8 days or so we’ve been under 1 solid foot of snow and cold, cold weather.
