“Light, my light the world-filling light, the eye-kissing light, heart-sweetening light!”
“Ah, the light dances, my darling, at the center of my life…” Tagore

I can measure how far North the Sun carries the light by its relation to Mount Tam and the Golden Gate Bridge. At Winter Solstice it is lights up the Middle of the GG Bridge. For the Summer Solstice the Sun is a hands width North of the highest peak on the skyline,The Sleeping Lady Mountain also Known as Mount Tamilpiaus.
How do you measure the seasons?
Reblogged this on Carolisle and commented:
The Sun the marker of our days has reached his furthest point North and will stop for a while before he turns back south and the days grow shorter. May we all enjoy the blessing of the warmth and brightness!

My horizon is much smaller than yours, Carol! I measure the seasons by how long the sun clears the top of the trees surrounding my garden 🙂

What a beautiful sundial you have. For my day to day life I also follow the sun through my garden or across the kitchen table. Happy Summer.

That is perfect; I never thought of it as a sundial, yet it is. Thanks, Carol, for so often guiding me to see things in a new way 🙂

I must admit I did make a trip down to the Bay for these shots. As I told Lynn we also measure the sun’s movement by which side of the kitchen table we sit on. I the winter we are blinded by the light. Maybe the saltshakers shadows. 😉

Beautiful shots Carol. Especially the last one. And the Sun in Oklahoma is beaming down on us and it is hot!!! Will probably be around 100 degrees toward the end of this week. I just hope it doesn’t get up to 112 or 114 like it did last summer!!

We welcomed Summer this week with cool rain from Alaska…It seems like winter …we had to move a picnic inside. I hope you don’t have another HOT summer, too.
