A Journey From Mother Ship To Tall Ships

During breakfast at the Chicken and Waffles  diner  at Oakland’s Jack London Square, we experienced a time distortion. We expected the news paper head lines to be about Sputnik or Area 51. Maybe we had time traveled back to the 1960’s, the music playing  suggested that ” It’s Just My Imagination”  thanks to Smokie Robinson.

After licking the last bit of syrup and chicken from our fingers we knew we need to “Walk it Off’ so we headed down to the water. To our amazement there stood two Tall Ships with crew in period costumes. Now we were in the 17 0r 1800’s. Captain Jack Sparrow must be somewhere near by. Actually one of the ships was used in those pirate movies.

Early Ocean going was just as amazing and perilous as space exploration. I wonder what’s next?
