No matter what the prophecies for 2012 the last month of this year is time to reflect on triumphs and challenges. I wonder if we can find that point, that line that marked a change or dramatic shift in your life this year. Maybe an awe or an ah ha!
Our daughter really moving out, furniture and all was big for me.
Writing this blog and realizing I really am going to make it to 365 posts. Even if I have to do it on my IPhone like today.

Light Words 
It has been a good year, but as you say, there are points that stand out. My son accepted a Fulbright position in Argentina, and leaves in March. My daughter flew off to Stanford, and that was big. I also finished a novel I had ben working on TOO LONG. I am looking ahead to the next big project. Food for thought!

Sounds like an empty nest year for you too. We’re not far from Stanford if she need anything 😉 Our daughter spent time in South America it was a great experience for her but a stretch for my mom heart strings. Congratulations finishing a book. !!! big smile 😀

You are so sweet! She seems to be settling in well, and loves it there. I still have my son until March, but then it will really be an empty nest. Where in South America was your daughter?

My Daughter was in Chili for her study abroad form Santa Cruz. That travel is why she has a job now in this economy. Your daughter is at Standford just in time for rose Bowl fever. Go Cardinals! What is she studying?

Dear Carol,
Is your daughter working in Chile or is she back in the US? What is her field of study? I’d love to hear more about her experience down there.
Bea isn’t much of a sports fan, but she might get caught up in the spirit of things. My husband and I actually wondered if she would catch the fever. She is studying History, Writing, Acting, Hebrew, and Genetics this semester. A few weeks ago she volunteered to teach 80 local high school students (four classes of 20 kids in each) a course she called “Kamikaze Novel Writing.” The next weekend she took an intensive two day First Aid and CPR course because she has volunteered to be one of the students group leaders who takes incoming freshmen on their pre-orientation outdoor backpacking experience. I was too shy to take advantage of all that when I was her age, so I am especially happy to see her having fun and contributing that way.
