Fresh baby spider
Fresh baby spider, look closely she’s the smudge in the middle.

I went out to the garden to look for something FRESH for this weeks photo challenge and came across this tiny spider in a big web between the grapevine and lemon tree. I don’t usually see these gals until October when they are as big as my thumb. It’s a treat to find the young ones so small FRESH!

The grapes, so fresh they're yet not ripe.

    1. The grapes have a way to go they have to turn dark purple. My first crop in the 30 years at this house. Hmmm. I’ll give you a heads up when I post portaits next time 😉

  1. Spiders . . . NO. Grapes YES!! Love them. Wish I could grow them but I think it’s too hot and dry here. I see some growing now and then though.

    1. As I told Sunshine, above, this is the first real crop of grapes in the whole time we have lived here. Maybe it was the heat wave last month. I hope the squirrel doesn’t get them.
You get freezes that’s what does in your grape crop. When we lived on South 13th I remember a grape vine behind the garage.

    1. I saw these gals egg sacks earlier this year, now I’m enjoying their childhood. I’m just amazed how big a web they create. Check out the comment above for pictures of writing spiders.
