I never can tell whether it is the words or the chords or the voices, but Paul Simons Graceland pulls at my heartstrings every time I hear it. There many ways to dance.
I, as well as, Many Californians have been consumed by the news of The Yosemite Fire. The National Parks in there wisdom had this video made. Watch to the end for an hint of hope.
Incredible pictures of the rim fire.
The song you give us is one I listen to almost every day. I adore it and bop around like crazy when it’s on. Fabulous album. I know what you mean about not knowing what I’m responding to. Another group that does that to me, although they are very different, is Mumford & Sons.

Ok now I spent half an hour listening to Mumford and Sons. I remember them from the Grammys. Great harmonies and depth of meaning and good looking boys! Perfect combination!
Glad I know I your dancing because, I purposely bop around as soon as I hit Publish and hope some one else is dancing too. 😀

The fire video made me realize how terrifying a forest fire can be. This is not a big hazard where I live. And . . . thanks for the dancing tunes.

This is an old folk(ish) song about Uncle Walter who goes Waltzing with Bears (Wa-wa-wa-waltzing).

Carol, I love the Graceland album, thanks for reminding me how great it is. The fire video was frightening and beautiful all at once – an epic event.

Our only copy of Graceland is on vinyl, that’s how long ago it came out. It was fun dusting off those memories.
Fire is the definition of fierce beauty. I know you did a piece to Air have you written one for fire?

Ah, yes, Carol, but it was in the form of “light.” Fire from the sun translating in light for the earth 🙂

Ah yes I remember that one! I may even have it. Translating light! One of my favorite terms.
