Silent Stealthy approach to tree full of bitds
Silent Stealthy approach to tree full of birds.

After a short walk to look for shore birds along the bay we turned around to find trees and the sky full of black birds. I was able to capture some of the action on my phone because the Husband tiptoed up silently and shooed them just in time for me to click.

Not So Silent video. I’m still learning to hold the camera still for moving pictures.

  1. don’t they make a lot of noise, much nicer than the sound of a jackhammer though. Humans have a long way to go to make their busyness sound lively. Here we have Jackdaws, which are a smaller size crow, and sometimes in the evening the sound of them in the field across the road fills the air. I keep meaning to record their sound, especially because there is always an owl or two that joins the chorus.

  2. Many of these are red winged blackbirds which make a nice whistle sometimes. When we first moved into our house, many years ago, there red wings in our yard but they have moved away due to stream restoration near by. That is a good thing but I miss them. I love owls! I made a video of a sunrise full of owls. If can find it I’ll send it to you. Your iPad probably could do that, too. Happy Monday!
