When Weekly Photo Challenge Containers showed up I thought of Oakland’s container port but didn’t have any pictures of it and didn’t know when or how I would get any. Fortunately I looked up, as we came off the Bay Bridge, just in time to notice 2 clear shots of the Port of Oakland.

I remember watching them load these unto ships in Quebec City many years ago now. Oh, well, clouds as containers. Of course they are!!!

My best memory of container ships is seeing them up on the way to Victoria BC looking like bright lego toys.

they do look exactly like the Star Wars mechanical fighters…wonder if they got their idea from your city???

Story is George Lucas saw the cranes on his way to Oakland Airport and was inspired to create those mechanical fighters…He lives in the Bay Area!
