I never knew a time when this clock and these candle sticks were not in my life I brought them to California in my carry-on after we sold my childhood home in Oklahoma. My father said he remembered the clock on a shelf in the kitchen when he was a kid He made the candle sticks in wood shop in high school. So many memories so many stories. Thanks Becky at Time Square December 4 for a chance to share this. I think I will send it to my daughter’s to help keep the story alive.
What a wonderful memory! Absolutely forward the story to your daughter.

Practically my whole house! I still have my grandmother’s furniture in the guest bedroom – that is just one example!

Oh, I have a photo of my sister and me in that bed when we were about three (me) and five (my sister) years old. It was New Year’s Eve and we got to go to at least part of the party at my grandparents’ house.

Such a sweet tender memory. These are the things we think we’ll grab if fleeing the “fire”. But ha! Nobody has time to think.

Wonderful memories to go with your photos today, Carol. Your dad did a nice job on the candlesticks. They look like a match set with the clock.

My dad never touched a tool he couldn’t use. He also knew what wood the clock and candlestick are. Walnut I think?
