Nice photos for the topic, Carol. I love the one with the Pyramid and the Flatiron Building. That’s a favorite one of mine. Francis Ford Coppola used to have his American Zoetrope studio downstairs. I don’t know if he’s still the owner.

Thanks for the info & update. I have some B&W photos of that building from the mid-80s that I should scan.
When I worked in the Pyramid I took one afternoon a week—usually a Friday—and after work I would explore North Beach and photograph whatever inspired me at the time. I always took the Ferry home and sat on the upper deck and watched the city disappear into the distance. Late Winter afternoons were the best—early sunsets and jewel box lighting in the skyscrapers against the darkening sky.

Just checked Wikipedia. It’s actually called the Columbus Tower. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbus_Tower_(San_Francisco) and is occupied by Zoetrope.
