Jays and Magpies are equally talkative chaps as Black Birds or Ravens
Once in Alaska, along a riverbed, I heard a couple having a heated argument in a foreign language. I peeked around a big rock to make sure everyone was ok. All I saw was a pair of ravens having a chat about the quality of fish in that particular spot. I left them to it. Later I learned the ravens in Alaska are a subspecies of North American ravens because they speak with a different dialect. I wonder if the Magpies in London have a different accents then their American Cousins?

Thanks for joining in again, Irene. I would love to know the answer to that question. Let me know if you find out. 🙂

I’ll ask those magpies next time I see them. Which will probably be a long time from now 🤗

Oops. Sorry, Carol. I usually blame such slip–ups on a caffeine deficiency.
