A rather anticipated view-perhaps true

“Marriage is like a cage; one sees the birds outside desperate to get in, and those inside equally desperate to get out”

– Michel de Montaigne, French philosopher, 1533-1592

Corollary to

“a door is something a cat (dog) wants to be on the other side of”

2 cats 2 cars in a cage
Dog He goes where he pleases

It Started with a Door

  1. Thanks for linking my post about the door and the dogs. I am not sure I agree with the quote about marriage. Then again, if I was divorced, I may indeed see another perspective. I see the door being a barrier as relevant in this respect too and reminds me of the adage, ” the grass is greener on the other side of the mountain/fence.”

    1. Debbie Smyth of Travel with intent chose the marriage quote. I didn’t agree with it so I added the door quote. I like Greener grass… too. Mostly good reason to post images of cut pets 🐶🐱
