These small sweet smelling “Tagetes erecta, the Mexican marigold or Aztec marigold, is a species of the genus Tagetes native to Mexico. Despite its being native to the Americas, it is often called African marigold. In Mexico, this plant is found in the wild in the states of México, Puebla, and Veracruz.”according to Wikipedia They bloom in my garden every year just in time for Day of The Dead where these golden petals are sprinkled around the graves of ancestors in all over Mexico on November 1.

They are wonderful, and the way you have captured the light 😀 I also love the thought of sprinkling all these sunshine petals around the graves of loved ones.

I love those sunlit moments. It’s a wonderful tradition to honor the dead. This year there is so much death
