A quirky, Only in Berkeley, house resembling an aquatic creature. It’s made of abalone shells and concrete, and designed to withstand the forces of nature, including earthquakes and fire!

It was almost too late because the garden is taking over. More images of details below. The why and what for can be found can be found here https://www.berkeleyside.org/2015/11/30/how-quirky-is-berkeley-eugene-tssuis-fish-house-part-and Inside the Fish house

I can’t believe my friend who lives in Berkeley has never taken me to see this house. I must send her a link. Perhaps she doesn’t know about it. Thanks for showing it to us, Carol.

That’s certainly unusual. I wouldn’t have known what it was meant to represent unless you’d told me.

It’s actually modeled after a minuscule deep sea creature, but has always been the Fish House 🤔😀
