Becky’s Past Spiral post inspired to share this fossils ammonite I got in Nepal high in the Himalaya Mountains 1985. I asked the woman I bought it from, what it was called, and her answer was “a petrified spiral.” So now we know. Actually millions of years ago what is now the highest mountain range in the world was a warm saltwater sea. That’s hard to fathom

Both halves, they fit together like an ancient puzzle created by Mother Nature.

I know those mountains are on the move, but even so I still find it extraordinary they were once under water. Our world is amazing

We think on such short timescales that we really have little idea of the world we’re living in.
