I just learned that March 1 is the beginning of Meteorological Spring like Terri says in her Sunday Stills #Rain, Rain, Go Away? Post. The fruit trees are blooming around here in Northern California but has been raining for what seems like weeks. The sun just came out but there is a blizzard in the Sierras. It is an in-between time of year. So far this year I’m still a fan of rain.

Great things about rain I like. Are: Halo moons, reflections on puddles, rain drops on roses, how green everything becomes and clouds!

Petrichor is the smell of rain. The word comes from the Greek words ‘petra’, meaning stone, and ‘ichor’, which in Greek mythology refers to the golden fluid that flows in the veins of the immortals.

Wikipedia

We can’t live without rain and the smell does fill our souls as if a gift from the gods.

Last winter March we did have a brutal storm. That can be gone Banished even!
