Red bud tree outside my kitchen window. I planted it there myself to remind me of the Red bud tree in my yard as a kid in Oklahoma. The red bud is the Oklahoma state tree.

Very early every Spring in Oklahoma, the hillsides are covered with a smoke pick haze because there are so many red bud trees in bloom. Anyway that is my memory now that I live in California. I hope you enjoy these beautiful pics as much as I do.

  1. You do remember that the Redbud Tree is Oklahoma’s state tree don’t you?? I love Redbuds. They are just blooming here and they are so pretty. I have a small one in my yard.
    This is my favorite time of the year when the plants and trees are in bloom. I just hope we don’t have a hard freeze now. I will be disappointed.

    1. Yes this is my favorite time in Oklahoma, too. They do look pretty with Ice on them if there is a freeze but of course it kills the flowers and breaks the trees.
