Day four of the purple flower project. Did anyone catch on? If you did you win a smiling nod and a wink.
These beloved shrubs and
groundcovers turn many
Western hills blue in
Winter and Spring.
Poetry straight from the pages of The Sunset Western Garden Book.
I might add:
Bees love them,
gardeners love them,
deer won’t go near them,
they’re hard to photograph,
and they smell just as sweet as lilacs, they’re
Ceanothus the California State Shrub!

Hard to photograph, but very nicely done! – Ann

oh they are beautiful. Never heard of them or seen them – till now – so thank you for that.

Californians really love them, especially since the deer don’t eat them. Happy Easter. Carol
