Photo from the 1968 Exhibit
Soon after Andy Warhol’s painting of a Tomato Soup can came out I was an art teacher in Central LA . For a project I begged a grocery store for their display posters of cans of vegetables, I hung then around my room and had the kids draw then paint them. Turns out it is a harder concept than it looks. You have to measure to get the proportions just right.

Jakesprinters suggested the theme “Concept” Every thing about the year 1968 was new concepts Mod it was called. How about the Apollo 8 space capsule. Not only was it the newest technology then it was a beautiful design.

I always wanted an IBM Selectric, but have my old Corona still in my storage room. Cannot throw it away, too many memories. I have not done the blog for awhile, I want to get back to it. I still find WordPress very confusing, so I give up on it for awhile. You are such a great blogger, so consistent!!! Inspiring, I will be back!!

Ah, the late sixties. Loved them. How about love beads? All of which, alas, either crumbled or sprouted a few years later…mini-skirts! Peter Max posters! It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, to quote Dickens…

Great photos Carol. And I still eat Campbell’s Chicken Noodle soup when I’m sick. Thank goodness I don’t have to have it very often. lol
I also think I have an IBM Selectric out in my storage building. And I still have the Royal portable typewriter I got while I was in highschool. Gee, what do I do with them now?? Guess I’ll just let them set out there and when I’m gone our son can do whatever he wants too with them. A lot of those old advertising posters are neat to frame and put on the wall. I have one that was in the top of our garage in Ponca for years and years. It advertised “Dairyland, the 4 Star Ice Cream”. It’s framed and on the wall here in this room. So neat. Well, I better stop or I might “find” a lot more to mention.

No mangle? I’m sure I saw one somewhere recently. Can’t draw tins of soup- or anything else much.
