Berry Bloody Fingers
Justine and Marie  with Bloody Berry Zombie Fingers! The girls are language students from France and Czech Republic here to learn American ways.

After an afternoon of berry picking I said show me your hands and this is the pose I got. You know someone has learned a language when the understand humor.

Recipe for the berry crumble is: oatmeal, butter and sugar on top of sweetened berries, with a little flour to hold it together. Sorry no measurements because my grandmother taught me to cook by the handful instead of measuring.

The girls are students at Intrax San Francisco where my daughter is the housing coordinator if anyone one wants to host a student or come here to study click the bright yellow link.

  1. What a fun photo, Carol! And the berry crumble sounds and looks delicious. I was taught to cook that way too, except for baked goods that have to rise (my chemistry major mother was a stickler for that).

        1. Fudge…yum! Homemade fudge and pies. My grandma was the queen of pineapple upside down cake. I made it for Easter this year. Food and memories. I bet someone has a blog about that 🙂

  2. Your grandma made a lot of good “stuff”. Remember it well. Gosh I miss some of those things!! And if I was eating sweets and desserts I’d even try the berry crumble.

    1. I remember Grandma’s cheese cake best of all. Berry crumble has very little sugar but gobs of butter. Maybe next year. 🙂
