Landfill dumping ground for torn down freeway became a unique and creative playground for artists! And a self arising garden. At Albany Bulb just off I-80 free.

  1. do you ever wonder if graffiti artists are night creatures? as much as graffiti as I’ve seen, I have never seen someone actually doing the art work. Maybe that little squirrel knows the answer!

    1. Good eye, Glad you saw Mr. Squirrel 🙂 I’ll ask him about the artist next time I see him. Perhaps some of the creatures featured here are self portraits of the night artist. You got my imagination running!!!

  2. This is one of my favorite subject matters and you did a nice job of capturing it. I’m guessing you can call a landfill abandoned, at least the stuff in it, but I don’t think that cute little squirrel was abandoned. 🙂

As for me, normally I go after old abandoned farm houses and barns, but this time I decided to do something a little bit different. You’re welcome to come and see my take on the matter. 🙂

    1. The stuff is abandoned the place is a very popular dog walk place that’s why Mr. Squirrel has to hide.

      1. I remember one time when I was living in a fairly small rural community, I would put out corn cobs out after the corn had hardened into seeds and the squirrels would come and eat them. One time when I hadn’t put out any corn, there was a squirrel squatting on a limb above me, looking right at me and chittering very angrily at me because I hadn’t provided me its meal for the day. I thought that was quite amusing. 🙂

    1. Albany Bulb, yes. Go down Marin it will become Buchanan, keep going under the freeway until it dead ends and then keep walking West for a great view of the bay and art work. Really wonderful after a storm or Sunset 🙂
