Joni Mitchell’s Famous line “ Pave over paradise and put in a parking lot” is supposed to to be about Muir Woods National Monument. 45 minuets North of San Francisco, it certainly isn’t a wilderness area but the grandeur of the California Redwoods is easily accessible to everyone. I am hoping to walk among them once more before the summer is over. These photos were taken summer in 2012.

Which Photo makes you want to visit Muir Woods?

Sally Donatello of Lens and Pens Photo Challenge included her photos from a recent trip to Yosemite.

  1. “Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.” I love Muir Woods. I experienced it for the first time last August. It is an awesome place and I cannot wait to return. I like photo #2 for the depth in the shadows and the grandeur of the massive trees.

    1. That is the next line, very good!! 😉
So glad you got out to see them. I bet you have some fine photos of the redwoods.
I had fun tilting back to take #2.

  2. Yes, Muir Woods is a national treasure. I do hope that you return this summer. Number three is my favorite: enjoyed the disorientation of the perspective about the reflection. Happy Photo Challenge.

    1. Oh good someone liked that picture. I posted it last year for something else and go NO comments. It is one of my favorite captures. You don’t always get water that still.
      thanks

  3. All the photos are great, but I think my favorite is number two. It just looks like the tree goes up and up forever. I have always wanted to see the giant redwoods. Still a dream of mine!! Better hurry though . . . I’m getting old!! lol

  4. I think the first one is the one that makes me want to visit. I do love the “up” shot though. It’s so phenomenal to see how tall those trees are. Great post.
