Independence  Day Eve In Richmond CA

What could be more patriotic than to celebrate America’s birthday at the Rosie the Riveter’s Museum (dedicated to woman who helped build ships during WWII)?
But Why With The Sound of Music?
It was my first time to celebrate the 4th on the 3rd at The Richmond waterfront, It seems there is a long time tradition of arriving early to listen to the orchestra and eat then at 9 pm the musicians play songs from Sound of Music while we sing along.  I got into it when they  “I am sixteen going on seven teen”  came up, then everyone was on their fee when we sang “Do a deer…” Finally it all made sense when at the climax of “Climb Every Mountain” the first Ka-Boom of the fireworks went off and we went outside to enjoy the
“Rocket’s Red Glare” to the sound of Sousa Marches!
Great way to welcome the 4th of July
Happy Birthday USA!!!

    1. The fireworks are so close and there is no fog! We didn’t bother with the fireworks for the 4th this year…
