DetourI took a long time getting here,
much of it wasted on wrong turns,
back roads riddled by ruts.
I had adventures
I never would have known
if I proceeded as the crow flies.
Super highways are so sure
of where they are going:
they arrive too soon.

the shortest distance

Sometimes I act as though
I’m heading somewhere else
while, imperceptibly,
I narrow the gap between you and me.
I’m not sure I’ll ever
know the right way, but I don’t mind
getting lost now and then.

Bright autumn day here. Still colourful. Am going out to sort out about setting up a Social Snappers group at our Women’s Centre. Already have a couple of women signed up for it. Mostly using cell phones.

I have a programme sorted out and will go in to see them about what I need. Hooking my computer up to a TV is a must – it makes everything much easier to see.

Hi Carol, yes, we need to accept the detours ahead of us, and pay attention on the things they have to offer instead of complaining all the time. Always there is a reason!
