Even with signs there can be misunderstandings

So Many Chinese Schools A  True Story
A visiting  Brazilian student asked us why we had so many Chinese school around town. Flummoxed I asked “what do you mean? I don’t think we have any Chinese schools.’ “Well you have all these Shing schools” he went on and pointed to the School Xing near by. It took a little explaining but he got it. Now I know x is a sh sound in Portuguese . I can’t pass a School Shing sign and not smile or repeat the story.
