Late last night a friend left the name of The Pink Tree from yesterday’s Tree Challenge. So it is a Tree Dahlia in looking closely I see a resemblance to the smaller multi-petal flowers we are used to. While I was photographing the tree I also got close enough to capture a few petals. I was shooting straight into the sky so it makes them look like they are on a light box.A cool effect I’m going to keep in mind for other times.

Happy Holidays to all My Monday Challenge Friends
See you in the New Year
Carol, lovely capture and no distractions. We get to focus on the dahlias. They are sweetly inviting. Happy Photo Challenge.

I’ve never heard of a tree dahlia, Carol. You got a very different effect by shooting the way you did, an abstract quality.

Thanks Janet, I had never heard of it either. My friend she had one and they bloom from thanksgiving to Christmas around here. Also they brake easy. I’ll try to get one sometime.

Lovely. I used to have a tree dahlia growing in a place I rented. I’d forgotten how pretty they are. I’ll have to try and get some.
