Classic San Fransisco view of the Bow and Arrow and the Bay Bridge with tourist (my friends Ann and Lonnie) huddled close to keep warm.  Another “close” in this pic is how beautifully the bridge and bow bend and curve together and apart-you might even say waltz together.

When the Bow and Arrow was first put in place near the Embarcadero folks didn’t care for it, but as you can see people have beaten a path to it for a photo opps. The SF City Designers did know what they were doing I do believe.

  1. Looks like something that would be in Oklahoma in recognition of all the Indians here. Can you still name the 5 civilized tribes that were in Oklahoma??? You learned about it in school. Or let me put it another way . . . WE were taught about them in school here. lol

    1. Duh . . . now I get it. Takes awhile when your really old. But the same thing in Oklahoma would have a completely different meaning wouldn’t it. Interesting.

  2. A poem piece comes to mind- something about I shot an arrow into the air, it fell to earth I know not where- but that is all I can remember. I like the repetition of the curves of the bridge in the bow.
