I am re-posting this because I was trying to post from my Iphone and my fat fingers hit publish by accident before I was finished. Yes that is a bike rack cozy. Someone goes around Berkeley knitting covers for telephone poles and bike racks.
The second picture is a high concept bike rack they are putting up around Albany where I live.
Perhaps these new places to put bikes offer an opportunity to reminisce about bikes and how we use to “park” them.
I am sure someone can make up a good story about Gypsy, too.
Well Let me know what you come up with. 😀

I posted a rough draft by mistake (fat fingers on IPHONE) so this is a do over. Ain’t Electronics grand?

Bikes, bike racks, what are those?? A bike rack is almost something of the past around here. Remember behind the Junior High school the several rows of bike racks they had. And they would fill up with bikes every morning. I think we all rode our bikes to school. And if I remember right that would be about 3+ miles from where we lived. Now days the kids couldn’t ride a bike because it takes two hands to text. Can’t do that and ride a bike. lol Your always bring back good memories Carol. But that’s good!!!!

I road my bike to school once in a while. It was really heavy no gears and pedal brakes. My PT just told me to ride a stationary bike. don’t need a bike rack for that 😉

Gypsy, the anonymous, random-acts-of-kindness, Yarn Bomber, LOL! Nothing like mad group of knitters to brighten up one’s day. That just tickles my funny bone. 🙂

My goodness! Does someone sit there and knit (or crochet) the ‘cozy’ directly onto the object?
(I’m neither a knitter nor a crocheter, so I couldn’t begin to guess at the process)
I just saw a home-re-decorating show this week that included a ‘cozy’ for the rocking chair. Very interesting concept! 🙂

It does seem mysterious. They just suddenly appear. My guess is they knit a flat piece then stitch two edges together around the object. A cozy for a rocking chair instead of a cozy rocking chair interesting! Thanks for stopping by Karen 🙂

Ah! That does seem like a more ‘sensible’ way to go at it. But the picture of someone knitting on the sidewalk… hmmmm 😉
