These photos are taken through the back door windows hence the streaks. I was doing the sequence just about the time Weekly Photo Challenge came in yesterday asking me to do something that says home to me. I always feel my home is blessed when these lovely red house finches come visit. They showed up yesterday checking out my empty feeder that I quickly filled. I hope they make you smile as much as they do me.
truly beautiful…

Hi Carol,
We have house finches too, and I love them! Fun post.

They must be west coast natives.

I really like the brilliant red on their breasts and heads. I have never seen birds like these in San Francisco. Are they Berkeley Birds???

Yes they are hippy tie-dyed birds 😉 Maybe it’s to cool and windy for them. If you have a feeder with thistles in it they might show up.
