What is getting ready to rise up? Does it need Help?

think of Mary Oliver's poem the The Bear
Mary Oliver’s poem that begins..
Somewhere
a black bear
has just risen from sleep
and is staring

I know many of you are still buried under drifts of snow or winter dullness but somewhere a wild thing in you must be feeling a pull upward toward the sun, growing higher in the sky.Give voice to it today.Yawn and stretch, growl or moan, someone may hear you and come join you or help dig you out, for soon it will be  Spring (you will find the rest of the poem in this purple word)

  1. I am so grateful to now live in Southern California instead of Chicago. My son says they were buried in snow yesterday. That was fine with me, until I hit 50. Now, I prefer to growl in the relative warmth!

    1. Yes, I growled about the we bit of rain up here in Nor Cal than felt ashamed thinking of places like Chicago.

  2. Very nice and I love the lines formed by the shadows. I actually have been feeling drawn to the sun and fell the goddess rising up from the earth to bring us the beauty and warmth of spring. Hugs, Barbara

  3. I woke up to sunshine – that was quickly replace by snow flakes. Oh well, spring cannot be far off, just judging by the lengthening of daylight. Great photo.
