The story goes that when Persephone comes out from the Underworld on the first day of Spring a poppy springs up every where she steps. Welcome Spring! We have golden poppies springing up everywhere around here today. Here’s one now.

This one has radical red in the shadows for today’s Color Your World Radical Red
And here is The T. Sisters singing “The Seduction of Spring”. You have to open in a server to hear the song

Beautiful

I love how you linked the bright poppy to Persephone.

We must honor Persephone, today of all days, when she is said to return from her long stay in the underworld…Winter

Ah yes I see what you are getting at now. Over here in Oz it is the beginning of autumn . I love the story of Demeter and Persephone and made an art work featuring Demeter last week.

Oh I was just an event last night where we talked about at length about Demiter and Persephone..these myths seem to speak to a deep place in people.
Love to see your artwork.

Wish I was there. I am currently very intrigued about what happened to Demeter after she rescued Persephone.

One version is she relented and allowed crops to grow. I think that’s in thenEdith Hamilton version.

I must do some research. I thought she went to Ephesus in Turkey and started the mystery religion.

Fun Two of the women I was with were on a Goddess tour of Greece they visited sites dedicated to Dimeter and the Eleusinian Mystery School. Here’s a Wikipedia link that may help https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleusinian_Mysteries
Ephesus is said to be the final resting place of Mary I think there were states of Aphrodite there long before that…
Fun Research! Got me looking things up

Thanks for the link. I visited Ephesus too – maybe the visit lies behind this story I wrote this morning. I hope you enjoy reading it.

I bet you get snow which we never get. The sun has crossed into the Nothern Hemisphere at least.
