Did your Mother or you use them? Or grandmother or aunt? Today is a day to remember them

I remember my mother and I making one or more of those dresses
It’s still Day of the Dead in California, It’s a time to remember your ancestors and set up alters of things they liked. Besides sewing my mother and father liked the desert and had a cactus garden.

I mixed and a lot of subjects for today’s Six Word Saturday
It’s not to late to create your own Ancestor garden.
I still use Simplicity patterns but they don’t seem as simple now!

The paper is also more flimsy now too. I thought they were hard because I’m older 😉

Some of my problem is I hadn’t done any dressmaking for 25 years and I got new sewing machine to learn how to use as well. Also I find multi size patterns difficult 😦 It definitely isn’t you!

I still have a pair of yoga pants pinned to the pattern because the multiple size ing flummoxed 😶 me. Good luck with new sewing machine. I hope it’s easy to thread.

It’s supposed to thread itself but it’s reduced me to tears a few times 🙂

Whoops, fifty years old but solid. I’ve had it refurbished and it works well on the rare occasions that I pull it out.
