No matter what is happening around the planet on May 1st
High in the Berkeley Hills a group of Dancers and Fools
arrive to make sure the ribbons of Summer Sunlight
find their way into the world and sing:
Hail, hail the first of May O
For the best of Summers’s day O
Cast your cares and fears away
Drink to the old Bear on the first of May O

Oh, what a wonderful celebration – thank you for sharing this with those of us who were not there. I thought of your Queen of May post as I was dancing through my garden on May 1 🙂

I have always been interested in Morris dancing since I first read about it in an English mystery!

Look up Berkeley Morris Dancers, We have our own, you don’t have to go to England. There’s all kind of May Pole dances this weekend in Tilden Park and probably Golden Gate too.
