Jakesprinters asked me to post about the Plaines. Since I live in a hilly area by the ocean I went to a place that I thought might stand in as a prairie. When I arrivers there was a group of watercolorist painting the breathtaking view. Often known as En plein air painters (French for open air), it is doubly fitting that this would be this dyslexics offering for today. I was tempted to run home and dig out my little box of Prang watercolors.
I’ve always wanted to just go and sit with my paints and paint like that…and what a beautiful site for doing it…Another bucket list item to check off soon…

There is an expansiveness in plein air paintings, isn’t there? I can only think that the open air blesses and engages all the senses.

And the artist was so expansive she gave me a photo tip.

That’s a great spot to paint, Carol. If I could! Or I could just admire the view.

These pictures look like one you would see on a jigsaw puzzle. Really beautiful. Spring has sprung their, and it is starting to “spring” here too. Love it.
